Job Title: Oncology Medical Secretary Location: London, Greater London Banding: Band 5 to 7 Start date: 2 June 2025 End date: 27 June 2025 Rate: £22.55 per hour Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
A short‑term opportunity has arisen for an experienced Oncology Medical Secretary to join a specialist team in London. This role is ideal for a highly organised and detail‑oriented individual with a background in oncology administration. The successful candidate will provide essential support to consultants and clinical staff, ensuring the smooth coordination of services for our client’s patients during a busy period.
Responsibilities
The Medical Secretary will be responsible for managing consultant diaries, typing clinical correspondence, processing referrals, and liaising with patients and healthcare professionals. The role includes maintaining accurate medical records, handling sensitive information with confidentiality, and ensuring timely communication across departments. Familiarity with oncology terminology and workflows is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced clinical environment. Proficiency in using MOSAIQ or similar oncology systems is highly beneficial.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience as a Medical Secretary within an oncology setting
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in oncology
* Excellent typing and transcription skills
* Confident in managing consultant schedules and patient communications
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
