This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to be part of our high-performing Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation (EM&I) team, servicing sewage treatment sites across the Bridgewater and Weston-super-Mare area.
We welcome applications from those with experience in 24/7 operational production environments or backgrounds in commercial or industrial settings, focusing on PPM, fault finding, and rectification.
What you'll do
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on sewage treatment sites, ensuring the effective operation of plant machinery and equipment, including fault diagnosis and resolution.
You will utilize your decision-making skills to implement continuous improvements, reducing the risk of underperformance of our sites.
What you'll need
A positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to undertake diverse tasks are essential. We offer ongoing development opportunities, including Level 2 electrical installation training.
You should be a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Technician experienced with pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and conveyor equipment, capable of fault finding and sourcing replacements.
Applicants must hold a City & Guilds/BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent apprenticeship. Formal electrical training (dual skilled) is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent health and safety awareness and IT skills are also required.
A valid UK Driving Licence is necessary, as the role involves travel between sites. Participation in a standby rota is also required.
