About the Role

We are looking to hire a shift engineer to support the shifts and play a key role in the continued evolution of the engineering department and strategies. This is a hands‑on role, where your responsibilities will be working as part of a team on reactive engineering requirements across two packaging production areas, and will be key in the continued drive towards a one‑site mentality.
Shift pattern: 4‑on (2‑days/2‑nights – 6.45‑7) / 4‑off. Salary: £57,371.38p/a.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team on reactive engineering requirements across two packaging production areas.
* Maintain multiple lines of automated systems, slicers, scales, bagging, sealers, and packaging equipment.
* Optimise line performance to meet and exceed KPIs in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Ensure appropriate information on plant performance is captured and recorded.
* Complete maintenance activities to drive a predictive approach to tasks and prevent equipment failures.
* Bring strong fault‑finding methodologies and expertise to mechanical and electrical requirements.
Qualifications
* HNC or HND background.
* Multi‑skilled engineer with hands‑on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to carry out fault‑finding with PLCs (nice to have, not a prerequisite).
* Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
* Experience working within a TPM environment.
* Comfortable using CMMS and able to interpret data to increase plant efficiency and identify top loss.
