The South Tees Audiology Service team is based around Middlesbrough, Northallerton and the Yorkshire Dales and delivers high quality, innovative Audiology care. This includes an in-house earmould laboratory, cochlear implantation, Audiologist-led balance clinics including vestibular rehabilitation, paediatrics/neonatal screening, Bone Conduction Hearing Devices, direct referral hearing aids and fast-track GP Audiology screening. The main duties of this post include adult assessment and rehabilitation with both routine and complex adult caseloads. The main department is located at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.

Responsibilities
* Carry out adult assessment and rehabilitation for routine and complex audiology caseloads.
* Contribute to services provided by the South Tees Audiology Service including in-house earmould laboratory, cochlear implantation, balance clinics, paediatric/neonatal screening, Bone Conduction Hearing Devices, direct referral hearing aids and GP audiology screening.
* Work within the main dedicated Audiology department at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: BSc Audiology or equivalent.
* Essential: Registered or in the process of registering with one of the following bodies: RCCP as a Clinical Physiologist, HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, HCPC as a Clinical Scientist, AHCS as a Healthcare Scientist.
Knowledge and Skills
* Good level of clinical and technical audiology knowledge in routine audiology, including pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, and hearing aid selection, fitting, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Experience
* Desirable: Experience of NHS Audiology Services.
Personal Attributes
* Excellent communication skills, including building rapport with colleagues and patients, addressing patient concerns and complaints, taking detailed medical histories, explaining tests to patients and debriefing findings, and using motivational skills as part of a rehabilitation programme.
* Able to work independently and self-motivated to deliver a high-quality service.
