Qualified Nursery Practitioner (Level 2 or above)
Location & Working Hours
West Downs Day Nursery | Winchester | SO22 5HT (on the Student Village site of the University of Winchester).
Contract: Permanent | 18-40 hours/week | 52 weeks/year.
Working pattern: Full and part‑time options available of 2-5 days a week. Shifts fall between 07:30am‑18:30pm.
Salary: £27,040‑£32,427.20 per annum (pro‑rata) | £13.00‑£15.59 per hour.
Responsibilities
* Create opportunities for learning, planning and implementing high quality, engaging activities that promote learning through play.
* Observe, assess and record children’s progress.
* Act as a Key Person, ensuring each child’s needs are met.
* Advocate for safeguarding, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and happy and their well‑being is promoted.
* Collaborate in partnership with children, parents and colleagues, effectively communicating and building strong and positive relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hold a DfE approved early years qualification at Level 2 or above.
* Knowledge of the EYFS, enabling work as a Key Person.
* Experience in early years education (previous practice preferred).
