Job Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated individual who is passionate about training others to become a Clinical Educator Radiographer Team Lead. This role will primarily be based at the Queen Elizabeth site and will also provide cover for the Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope sites.
Responsibilities
* Line manage Clinical Educator Radiographers (CERs)
* Co‑ordinate CERs to work alongside staff, providing support to new starters and radiographers who are under‑performing
* Co‑ordinate the delivery of Imaging education and development, reporting progress
* Maintain a clinically credible and visual profile within clinical departments, working alongside clinical staff
* Work in collaboration with key stakeholders to review the educational requirements of radiographic staff to ensure that the needs of patients and service can be met
* Ensure education is planned and delivered that reflects governance intelligence from complaints, incidents, audit, radiation monitoring and evidence‑based practice and any improvement plans
* Play an integral part in advising on education required for the development of new roles and/or services
* Explore and develop alternative ways of training, education and development for example e‑learning, written training packages, workbooks, visits, clinical rotations and self‑directed study
* Link with appropriate multi‑professional groups and be a visible presence in the clinical area(s) attending divisional/group/floor meetings as appropriate
* Represent Imaging education within the trust and at a regional or national level
Qualifications – Essential
* BSc Diagnostic Radiography, or equivalent
* HCPC Registration
* PGCert Clinical Education or equivalent (or prepared to work towards)
Qualifications – Desirable
* Teaching qualification or prepared to work towards such
Experience – Essential
* Evidence of experience as a registered practitioner at a senior level
* Knowledge and understanding of HCPC standards
* Working with and mentoring/assessing students
* Evidence of developing new initiatives
* Clear evidence of continuous professional developmentBroad knowledge and experience of undergraduate healthcare education delivery in the NHS and relationships with HEI providers
* Understands the principles of teaching and learning in a clinical environment, including practice assessment
* Understands current national standards
Experience – Desirable
* Knowledge of managing/co‑ordinating clinical placements
* Knowledge and understanding of undergraduate curriculum for healthcare students
* Knowledge of research methodologies
