We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Dr Curran & Partners, located in the heart of Clapham with excellent transport links. As a training practice with strong academic affiliations, we offer placements and professional development opportunities while providing care to a patient list of 11,000. Overview
Dr Curran & Partners is a friendly, supportive, and high-performing training practice serving 11,000 patients in a desirable part of Clapham. We offer strong clinical support within an established Primary Care Network (PCN). Our experienced team includes nurses, HCAs, GP trainees, a Physician Associate, a Pharmacist, and Social Prescribers. The practice benefits from a purpose-built surgery, an onsite pharmacy, good transport links, and a staff car park. We are proud of our high-achieving team and our Good CQC rating, reflecting our commitment to excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a high standard of patient care using autonomous clinical skills and a broad theoretical knowledge base.
* Deal with presenting patients’ needs in a primary care setting; respond effectively to patient needs and ensure patient choice and ease of access to services.
* Promote healthy lifestyles and participate in national immunisation and screening programmes.
* Enable patients to manage their long-term health care needs and achieve independence in living.
* Encourage and facilitate patient choices by providing health promotion during routine screening procedures (e.g., new patient health checks, cervical cytology, long-term conditions management).
* Communicate complex information to patients and relatives with diverse needs, using negotiation and persuasive skills.
* Work with nursing, medical, and healthcare assistant colleagues to ensure National Service Frameworks are delivered.
* Clinical Responsibilities: Undertake clinical duties with relevant training in areas including:
* Adult and paediatric immunisations
* Smears
* Management of chronic conditions
* Dressings and stitch removal
* Phlebotomy
* Vaccinations
