About You

In order to cover maternity leave, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in financial data management. The Accounts Assistant will assist with various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, data entry, and the use of accounting software. This is a role offering 30 – 37.5 hours per week by negotiation.

Duties

* Perform weekly payment runs and update records on Sage.
* Post purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently.
* Bank cheques and manage credit applications.
* Address and resolve supplier and customer queries.
* Respond to internal queries related to accounts.
* Conduct credit card and petty cash reconciliations.
* Maintain organised filing systems for financial documents and records.
* Maintain accurate financial records and assist with other finance-related tasks as required.
* Utilise accounting software (Sage) to manage financial transactions.
* Mange Accounts inbox
Skills
* Proficiency in Sage accounting software highly desirable.
* Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with accounts payable processes and procedures.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with internal teams and external partners.
Requirements:
* Min 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* Proficiency with Sage software or similar accounting software an advantage.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and language proficiency skills to interact with suppliers, customers, and internal staff.

Salary range £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience and hours.
