SEND Teaching Assistant – Temp to Perm – September 2026 Start
A mainstream primary school in Blackburn is seeking a committed and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis from September 2026. This role is based within the school’s dedicated resource provision, supporting pupils with ASC and helping them access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.
About the Role
You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Your role will involve:
* Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group support
* Implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans
* Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
* Helping pupils engage positively with classroom activities
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
