We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team, based at our Customer Support Centre in Walsall on a hybrid working model, 3 days a week in the office.
You'll shape and deliver the strategy to enable positive performance on your sales/margin targets, managing your resources and budget effectively to give the greatest returns. Coaching, and leading your team to help them achieve their goals, driving effective range developments, product development and exploring new products that our customers would love.
You and your team play an essential role in our product journey, without you, our customers wouldn't be able to shop the ranges they love.
You'll contribute to the achievement of the commercial strategy and key performance indicators through effective category and people leadership; establishing Joint Business Partnerships with suppliers and key stakeholders to drive scalability, efficiency, and growth. Along with:
* Setting and meeting key performance objectives related to sales, margin, and other critical operational metrics.
* Helping to define and implement our company’s vision.
* Leading the development and execution of product range reviews to optimise category performance.
* Drive revenue, margin, and gross profit across commercial divisions and brands.
* Identify, create, and develop new product range opportunities, taking ownership of crafting compelling business proposals that secure new deals, contracts, and long-term partnerships.
* Promote collaborative working between Buying, Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance.
Skills And Knowledge…
For this role we need someone who has over 5 years experience in a retail buying position, having led a team previously and is use to leading category management; including analysing market trends, creating product ranges, and ensuring stock availability. Having a comprehensive insight into product and logistical challenges and their impact on operations, with a deep understanding of suppliers’ needs and how to foster strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
