As an Area Manager, you will lead multiple teams across a production shift, ensuring that production plans are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll take ownership of people development, health & safety, and continuous improvement, while working closely with cross-functional teams to meet business goals. Lead and manage production teams across shifts to ensure efficient delivery of production plans, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and performance. Champion food safety and quality, taking decisive action when standards are compromised and collaborating with Technical, Hygiene, and Engineering teams to resolve issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in health & safety, operational efficiency, and quality, using data and team input to implement effective solutions. Manage people effectively, including recruitment, training, performance management, and wellbeing support, fostering a respectful and inclusive team culture. Communicate clearly and consistently, ensuring teams are well-informed, shift handovers are effective, and key stakeholders receive timely updates on performance and challenges. Hands-on experience of running a department within food production. Commercial awareness and a strong commitment to quality and customer service. Understanding of HACCP, food safety standards, and health & safety regulations (Level 3 Food Safety & Level 2 IOSH desirable). A resilient, credible leadership style with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams.
