Overview
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on the job coaching and feedback.
With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
* Actively encourage customers to provide feedback on their shopping trip through completing the “have your say” survey.
* Work across all areas of the store including online, the tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to ensure tasks are completed to meet the needs of our customers.
* Put into practice the training received to ensure we work safely.
* Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Be knowledgeable about store performance, understanding the part you play and what is needed to deliver profit.
* Be yourself, live our values, make everyone feel welcome and follow our policies.
* Ensure you clock in and out at the start and end of your shift to ensure you are paid accurately for the hours you work.
* Keep yourself, colleagues and customers safe by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
* Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age restricted products to all customers.
* Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts, explaining what you are doing to the customer.
* Work in a clean, tidy and organised manner, keeping aisles clear of congestion.
* At times you may be responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
* Follow all the training you have received to keep yourself, others and the store safe and legal.
* If applicable, duties may include Post Office Local operations and related checks (Post Office financial and criminal conviction background check). If the checks fail, a job offer may be withdrawn.
