The role
Who You Are You are an experienced social worker with a background in managing Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) work. You thrive in fast-paced environments and possess a strong ability to manage section 47 investigations. As a temporary worker, you are adaptable, ready to integrate into a supportive team, and eager to familiarize yourself with St Helens practice standards to deliver outstanding social care practice. What the Job Involves Working as part of the Duty Service, you will respond to referrals received from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), conducting assessments and planning for children. You will be part of one of the four teams, each consisting of a team manager, an assistant team manager, and six social workers. Your duty period will occur once every four weeks, during which you will be responsible for responding to referrals and completing necessary assessments. After initiating assessments and plans, you will either manage cases for a short-term period in the Child in Need process or prepare them for transfer if longer-term support is needed.
