Panel Builder / Electrical Design Engineer – Wigan area
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Onsite
Start Date: Immediate
Interviews: 1-2 stage process
Are you an experienced Panel Builder who can also deliver electrical design? This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer to join a dynamic organisation where your skills will make a real impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Panel Building (70%)
o Build and test large control panels (up to 2m high) in-house
o Connect electrical equipment, test cables, and update drawings/documentation
o Organise transport of equipment and panels to/from sites
* Electrical Design (30%)
o Create and update electrical drawings (EPLAN experience preferred)
o Support documentation and design improvements
* Additional Responsibilities (10%)
o Purchase and track equipment for projects
o Liaise with suppliers and manage missing orders
o Travel occasionally (approx. 20%, UK and abroad) for installations and testing
o Opportunity to do overtime
About You
* 5-15+ years' experience in panel building and electrical design (20+ years also welcome)
* Skilled in both hands-on panel assembly and creating electrical schematics
* Comfortable working with various voltages (24V AC/DC; 240V AC; 415V AC)
* Familiar with EPLAN or similar CAD tools (training can be considered)
* Knowledge of conveyor or robotic systems is an advantage
* PLC/HMI programming exposure (Siemens/Allen Bradley) is a plus
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Able to travel for site work when required
