Overview
We are seeking a Workshop Assistant with a positive, hands-on approach to join our workshop-based engineering team. This role involves repairing, servicing, testing, and maintaining lighting equipment.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in electro-mechanical systems and the software that controls them. They should be comfortable following both written and verbal instructions, while accurately completing routine paperwork and maintaining computer-based records.
Strong communication skills are desirable, as the role may occasionally involve responding to customer enquiries by phone or email, though this is not essential.
Applicants should be able to keep a clean, organised, and safe workspace to ensure efficiency. Proficiency with computers and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are required.
Responsibilities
* Checking and testing lighting units prior to sending them out for demo's
* Recording and reporting faults identified on fixtures
* Installing software updates
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment within the workshop
Skills
* Being proactive in learning new skills and improving work processes
* Be able to demonstrate the ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot tools, machinery, and related electrical and mechanical equipment
* The capacity to identify problems with equipment and contribute to finding solutions
