Library Assistant – Eastbourne Library
We are looking for a customer‑focused individual to support our modern library, offering services such as online access, job‑seeking help, health information, and community events.
Responsibilities
* Staff the customer counter and answer enquiries.
* Handle phone calls, issue items, process cash, organise files.
* Support library events (e.g., children’s summer programmes, Rhymetimes, Storytimes).
* Signpost patrons to the services they need.
* Travel to partner libraries in East Sussex; travel costs are covered.
Key Requirements
* Strong customer‑service and communication skills.
* ICT proficiency and willingness to develop further.
* Team player, self‑motivated, capable of manual handling tasks.
* Ready to undertake training and working at multiple libraries.
Hours & Travel
Work rota: Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Travel to other libraries as required – costs covered.
