SALES CONSULTANT (TELESALES)
Permanent, Full Time
Basic Salary: £28k - £32k base
Bonus: £10.8k uncapped commission pot
Location: Birmingham (4 days per week expected in the office - Fridays from home)

The Fuel Store (TFS) is a progressive, Birmingham based business using technology to develop its market and stay ahead of the competition. It is on a mission to revolutionise the way business is conducted in its chosen business segments. The business is a leading provider of fuel and associated products into the transportation sector, providing a range of products and solutions to its customers to increase profits through increasing share of wallet, customer loyalty and usage; serving customers more efficiently and cost-effectively. It currently facilitates the provision of and processes the transactions to allow 65 million litres of Fuel per annum through its card processes.
The business was started 10 years ago and to date has grown organically. Future development will be a combination of organic and inorganic growth offering its customers a carefully thought out package of products with software that enables easy/dynamic/cost optimised fleet management at its core.
The business is very efficient and proudly operates with circa 50 colleagues whilst delivering over £80m of turnover. It means that the senior management team need to be able to operate at both the strategic and operational level often in the same meeting. The ability to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and deliver your own solutions is a hugely important asset to us.
As a Sales Consultant, you will play a pivotal role at The Fuel Store by proactively driving business growth through outbound prospecting, negotiation and closing new deals.
Your primary responsibilities will include opening and converting these opportunities, building strong lasting relationships, managing new clients through a successful embedding period, and engaging in persuasive communication to promote our products and services across fleet management. Your ability to understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets will be critical to your success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conducting outbound sales calls with new prospects and identifying customer needs to provide appropriate solutions based on our product portfolio
* Challenging and influencing decision-makers to move deals forward and close opportunities
* Turn customer interest into commitment by confidently overcoming objections and securing sales
* Consistently pushing to exceed targets by capitalising on every opportunity
* Upselling our product portfolio to maximise sales with new customers where applicable
* Deliver a first-class client experience to ensure satisfaction and longevity
* Converting new business opportunities by promoting The Fuel Store brand and clearly communicating our offering
* Understanding client needs and requirements to deliver tailored solutions
* Cultivating consultative long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty and repeat business
* Onboarding new clients and managing a successful embedding through the first 13 weeks of early life management
* Reacting positively to underperforming clients to retain or regain usage
* Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of potential customers from generated leads
* Utilising our CRM systems to record and track customer interactions
* Achieving and exceeding KPIs in correlation with business needs
* Maintaining a high standard within your calls, focusing on compliance and quality checks monthly
* Displaying a competitive edge and results-driven mindset to outperform competitors in the market
REQUIREMENTS:
To have the ability to contribute to The Fuel Store’s success, you will need the following knowledge, skills and experience:
* At least 2 years’ experience in a Sales role
* Ability to work to a high volume and manage your own diary effectively
* The ability to learn quickly and take in complex information
* Familiarity with CRM systems and sales processes
* Experience in high-volume outbound sales environments, with strong KPI discipline and fast conversion cycles
* Familiarity with industries such as fuel cards, energy, telecoms, insurance and financial services (inc. payments) is preferable
* Highly competitive and driven to outperform targets, with a natural hunger for success and a mindset geared toward winning in fast-paced sales environments
* Great aptitude for overcoming challenges
* Resilience and ability to focus on the detail but not forget the bigger picture
* Ability to work hard as an individual but also bring value to the wider team
* Excellent organisation and time management
* Be commercially savvy
* Comfortable with CRM systems such as Dynamics 365 and using data to drive decisions
