Overview
Band 4 Dietitians Assistant Practitioner, 37.5 hours, 12 months fixed term or secondment. This post is integral to the dietitians team based at St Richard's Hospital Chichester. You will support the registered dietitians working across acute in‑patients, paediatrics, diabetes, and bariatrics teams to provide a quality dietetic service to patients in their own homes.
Responsibilities
* Assist dietitians in the review of patients, face‑to‑face and via telephone.
* Deliver elements of delegated dietetic care within an agreed scope of practice under dietitian supervision.
* Maintain accurate health records and obtain information from a range of sources to support dietetic treatment plans.
* Provide non‑clinical support to the dietitians, such as maintaining department resources, data entry, and general admin duties.
* Cover the workload of other dietetic support workers during leave or absences.
* Support dietitians in normal departmental activities – MDT working, projects, meetings, service developments, audits, research, developing resources, and training other health professionals.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent communication skills and experience dealing with adults or children with nutrition‑related issues in a caring capacity.
* Commitment to patient‑centred, non‑discriminatory practice.
* Ability to maintain accurate health records and organise information for dietetic decision‑making.
