Job Description
Reed have partnered with an electronic manufacture in the Cynon valley who are recruiting for an Engineering Manager to lead their developing engineering team in South Wales. This role is pivotal in developing new products, technology roadmaps, and enhancing product development processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Manage the timely completion of development projects from concept to production implementation.
* Lead and develop engineering teams, ensuring effective recruitment, motivation, and development within a strong team environment.
* Ensure strict adherence to quality standards (e.g., IRIS, VG, AS9100, ISO 9001) and internal new product introduction (NPI) processes.
* Develop and optimise project management systems and methods to ensure effective and timely completion of tasks.
* Lead value engineering initiatives to optimise production methods and develop new equipment.
* Maintain continuous communication with customers to ensure successful realisation of development projects.
* Represent the engineering function in business management teams and external industry organisations.
* Develop technology roadmaps focusing on projects with high commercial success prospects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Science, Physics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferable.
* Proven experience in managing connector development in sectors such as defence, aerospace, transportation, medical, industrial alternative energy, or automotive.
