Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join our team, working alongside the Microbiology Consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to antimicrobial stewardship within the Trust and ensure that antimicrobials are used safely and effectively within our established Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service.
This post would suit a Pharmacist with excellent clinical knowledge, good communication skills and experience in antimicrobials. To support 7 day working you will be expected to participate in the on-call, weekend, Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.
Responsibilities
* Regular attendance at antimicrobial ward rounds with the microbiology consultants.
* Provide specialist clinical input into the Trust OPAT service and contribute to weekly MDT meetings.
* Work towards the Trust’s antimicrobial stewardship strategy.
* In conjunction with the OPAT team, ensure that patients on OPAT receive appropriate monitoring and follow-up, auditing outcomes.
* Undertake audits for antimicrobials and antifungals including CQUINs in conjunction with the microbiology consultants.
* Train multidisciplinary team members in the appropriate use of antimicrobials.
* Develop and support staff wellbeing and development within the team.
