Warehouse Fit-Out Project Manager Derby 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract (with potential extension) £80,000 per annum (pro rata) Benefits The Opportunity A rapidly expanding retail business is seeking an experienced Warehouse Fit-Out Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a newly opened warehouse facility in Derby. This is a critical role, responsible for ensuring the site is fully operational, efficient, and aligned with business requirements. You'll work across a wide range of stakeholders including contractors, design agencies, and technology providers, taking ownership of the entire fit-out lifecycle from initial planning through to final handover. Key Responsibilities Lead the full lifecycle of the warehouse fit-out project from planning through to completion Develop and manage detailed project timelines, ensuring key milestones are achieved Coordinate with design partners to finalise layouts and maximise space utilisation Oversee installation of core infrastructure including racking, lighting, and safety systems Manage third-party vendors delivering CCTV, access control, and security solutions Collaborate with WMS providers to support system implementation and integration Ensure successful deployment of automation solutions such as conveyors, scanning systems, and robotics where applicable Monitor budgets, track costs, and manage any variances Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are maintained Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear and consistent updates Oversee testing, documentation, and full project handover Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety and regulatory standards Key Requirements Proven track record delivering warehouse or logistics fit-out projects (5 years) Strong understanding of warehouse operations, layouts, and infrastructure Experience managing multiple third-party vendors and stakeholders Familiarity with WMS implementation and warehouse automation technologies Excellent project management and organisational skills Strong communication and stakeholder management capability Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Solid understanding of health & safety within warehouse or construction environments Desirable Experience Background in retail, e-commerce, or 3PL environments Experience with automation or systems integration projects Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) What's on Offer Competitive salary of £80,000 (pro rata) Benefits package Opportunity to play a key role in a high-impact, fast-growth business Potential for contract extension based on project success If you're an experienced project manager with a strong background in warehouse fit-outs and are looking for a high-impact contract, this is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference within a growing retail organisation.
