Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an exciting start-up business. After 5 years operating in the food retail sector, they have an ambitious strategy to quadruple turnover in the next 3 years. To support this growth, they are looking to add a Supply Chain and Inventory Manager to oversee day-to-day operations. While the role is primarily focused on supply chain and inventory, the successful candidate will also be involved in other aspects of the business.

Responsibilities
* Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including production, inventory management, logistics, and distribution to major UK retailers.
* Retailer Coordination: Manage key retailer relationships (e.g., GFR), ensuring on-time deliveries, high stock availability, and compliance with retailer-specific requirements.
* Cost Control & Efficiency: Monitor operational costs, implement process improvements, and drive cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.
* Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular reports to senior management. Strong Excel skills (medium to advanced) are required.
* Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all operational processes comply with food safety regulations and act as the company's QA liaison with third-party manufacturing partners.
About You
You are results-driven, highly organized, and have experience managing operations in the FMCG food sector. You thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and are skilled at identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3+ years of experience in FMCG operations, preferably in food or consumer goods.
* Strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics, GFR, inventory management, and forecasting.
* Experience with multiple retail channels (supermarkets, wholesale, food service) is a plus.
* Proven team leadership and development skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
* Comfortable analysing data/KPIs and creating reports for decision-making.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience with ERP systems, WMS, and supply chain tools.
* Knowledge of UK food regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRCGS) and health & safety compliance is beneficial.
