Job Description:
We are supporting a North East Business in their search for a HR Manager. This is a newly created role that will evolve with the business and would suit someone who understands the demands and flexibility required to work for an SME. The business is values-led, encouraging employee voice and continuous improvement. The North East office is in Newcastle, but the team works remotely. Flexible hours and part-time options are considered.
The responsibilities include:
* Developing the HR function using existing materials and processes.
* Managing the full employee lifecycle.
* Establishing a remuneration committee and terms of reference.
* Implementing incentivisation models to drive performance.
* Overseeing end-to-end payroll processes and resolving payroll queries.
* Administering P11D and PSA processes.
* Managing relationships with outsourced payroll providers.
* Providing reports, analytics, and KPIs regularly.
* Managing expenses and employee absence.
* Handling recruitment, including interviews.
* Maintaining HR policies and SOPs.
* Managing Apprenticeship levy and supporting L&D initiatives.
* Fostering a positive organizational culture and employee engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience as an HR and Payroll Manager in an SME.
* Knowledge of HR and Payroll systems.
* Experience establishing remuneration committees.
* Knowledge of employment law and GDPR.
* Support experience in generalist HR.
* An HR qualification is preferred.
* Exceptional organizational skills.
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
