Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work within the Complex Rehab Unit at Castle Hill Hospital.
The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the further assessment and rehab of patients referred for acute complex rehabilitation, who may have acute neurological conditions, acquired and traumatic brain injuries, or be recovering from a complex medical event. As a Therapy Assistant you will have direct input in the treatment of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recover, promote well‑being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life.

Main duties and responsibilities
* Complement the Therapy Service at the Complex Rehab Unit at Castle Hill Hospital, with possible work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust.
* Work 20 hours over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to support the progression of patients’ rehab.
* Provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out delegated duties.
* Assist in undertaking clerical and administrative duties directly related to patient care including mobility aids and clinical supplies.
* Assist in delivering evidence‑based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well‑being and optimise independent functioning.
Qualifications and requirements
* An NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent is desirable.
* Experience or enthusiasm to work as a Therapy Assistant in an acute complex rehabilitation setting.
* Ability to adapt to a changing environment and work well in a team.
* Demonstrated compassion, kindness and respect towards patients and colleagues.
Training and support
* Excellent in‑service training.
* Supervision in all clinical areas.
