Early Careers Trainee Programme
We’re inviting applications for our Early Careers Trainee Programme, designed for those ready to take their first step into a rewarding career in accountancy. Whether your passion lies in Audit, Accounts or Tax, you’ll gain the skills, qualifications and experience to become a fully qualified professional, supported every step of the way.

Role Overview
We are seeking people with enthusiasm and commitment to provide a high-quality, added-value service to our clients. In return, we’ll develop your skills in accountancy, taxation and audit and your IT & business development exposure will be substantial. As your experience grows, invariably your client exposure will increase, alongside your level of responsibility. Personal skills training is provided.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Working Towards a Degree or is Degree Qualified: We will first look at applicants who have at least 300 UCAS points (old tariff, 125 new tariff). We accept applications from any degree discipline.
* Part or Non-Qualified: Whether you don’t hold any accountancy qualifications or have started on your journey to become a Chartered Accountant – we want to hear from you!
Programme
You’ll join a training contract and programme, combining practical client experience with professional study towards your qualification. You’ll become part of the Sumer Academy. The Academy runs alongside your studies, offering a blend of online, virtual and in‑person learning focused on building both your technical skills and the soft skills that will help you thrive.
You’ll also train as part of a group‑wide cohort, connecting with other trainees from across the Sumer Group to share experiences and learn together.

About You
To apply, you’ll need a strong academic background, including at least a Grade C/4 in English and Grade B/6 in Maths at National 5 level (or equivalent).
You’ll also be:
