About the Business
This is an opportunity to join a well-established distribution business based in Stourport as a Management Accountant, offering a varied role within a collaborative finance team. The role would suit someone who enjoys working closely with operations, producing insightful management accounts, and supporting decision-making in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
Main Duties:
This is a varied, hands-on Management Accountant role, which includes:
* Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
* Produce and analyse cost and margin information to support operational performance and decision-making.
* Partner with operational and departmental managers on budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement.
* Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide clear insight and recommendations to senior management.
* Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors as required.
* Maintain and enhance financial controls, processes, and reporting systems.
* Assist with capital expenditure appraisals and investment analysis.
* Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations for relevant business areas, ensuring risks and opportunities are clearly understood and communicated.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards.
* Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support commercial decision-making.
Location / Office / Culture
The role is based in Stourport, with a hybrid working pattern of three days in the office. You’ll be part of a supportive, down-to-earth finance team working closely with colleagues in a practical, hands-on environment. What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience.
* Proven experience in a management accounting role with a strong financial foundation.
* Solid involvement in month-end processes, with a focus on accurate revenue recognition.
* Strong analytical skills, including post month-end reporting, contract analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis.
