About the Role
We are looking for a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our warm and supportive specialist school community. Our pupils have a wide range of needs, including autism, complex learning difficulties, communication needs, sensory processing differences, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
You will play a vital role in helping create a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment where every young person is valued and supported to achieve their full potential.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils' individual needs
Assisting with personalised learning plans, communication strategies and sensory support
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour routines
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
Helping create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment for all learners
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (special school experience is an advantage, but not essential)
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs flourish
Willingness to undertake training in areas such as autism, communication strategies, and sensory support
