We're recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering consultancy, specialising in the development of sustainable electrified propulsion systems and associated technologies for OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and research bodies across the automotive, aerospace, off-highway, defence, and clean energy sectors.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to take the lead on technical development and innovation, working on clean-sheet designs across inverters, DCDCs, onboard chargers and related systems.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead the design and specification of magnetics and capacitors for power converters and inverters
* Design and develop mixed signal systems and digital processing platforms
* Carry out system simulations using tools like Simscape and PLECS
* Collaborate with control engineers to define control strategies for converters/inverters
* Ensure designs meet standards such as IEC61508, ISO26262, and CISPR25
* Lead multi-disciplinary projects, from proposal through delivery
* Act as the technical interface to key customers and internal stakeholders
* Support business development by contributing to proposals and marketing
* Provide mentorship and share knowledge with the wider engineering team
