Role Overview
The Operational Director is responsible for the strategic and effective leadership of the operational functions within MSP. This role ensures that all operational activities align with the company’s objectives, values, and long-term strategic goals. The post-holder will lead and manage planning, execution, and optimization of processes across production, project delivery, logistics, and supply chain to enhance business performance while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Strategic Planning: Working directly with the M.D, develop and implement strategic plans to optimize operational efficiency across production and software engineering. Prioritize sustainability practices that minimize environmental impact and align with Multi-Source Power’s commitment to clean energy solutions. Collaborate with internal and external teams on design, assembly, manufacturing, and new product development.
2. Production Oversight: Manage end-to-end production processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, modular BESS units with a focus on scalability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental standards.
3. Software Engineering Integration: Ensure alignment with the development and integration of software solutions to guarantee functionality and user experience of our BESS. Facilitate seamless collaboration between hardware and software teams.
4. Process Optimization and Innovation: Assess current processes to identify inefficiencies. Use data and sector-specific innovations to implement scalable solutions that improve system performance, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Promote collaboration between production and software teams to ensure cohesive development and deployment of energy storage systems. Align workflows, communication, and goals.
6. Performance Management: Define KPIs for production and software functions, focusing on quality, efficiency, uptime, and environmental impact. Implement monitoring systems and reporting frameworks to track performance and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
7. Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively across workforce, equipment, and materials to ensure optimal utilization, minimal waste, and cost efficiency. Plan resources aligned with project timelines and sustainability goals. Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies to ensure operational resilience.
8. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, environmental standards, and certifications relevant to energy storage and software integration. Embed quality assurance protocols to uphold product safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
9. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and environmental responsibility.
10. Stakeholder Engagement: Work with internal and external stakeholders including clients, suppliers, and regulators to promote sustainable practices and operational excellence.

Person Specification
Successful candidates will:
* Hold a full driving license valid for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points.
* Have experience in senior operational leadership, preferably within energy, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
* Possess strong commercial, financial, and strategic planning skills.
* Understand HSQE requirements and regulatory compliance.
* Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
* Be adaptable, resilient, and results-oriented, with a passion for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Preferred qualifications include:
* Background in manufacturing/production operations and software engineering environments.
* Experience implementing process optimization and resource planning systems.
* Knowledge of regulatory standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001; familiarity with energy storage technologies such as BESS is highly desirable.
* Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related fields; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
