Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical care within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Duties include managing on-the-day and routine patient contacts through our total triage system, undertaking clinical assessments and decision-making, supporting long-term condition management alongside our nursing and pharmacy teams, and contributing to practice meetings and quality improvement activity.We welcome GPs who enjoy teamwork, value continuity of care, and want to play an active role in a practice that is continually developing and committed to excellent patient outcomes.

Job summary
A SalariedGP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provisionof medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellentstandard of clinical care while complying with the contract.
Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMCstandards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective managementof the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborativeworking relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
The role is to support, mentor, and supervise otherhealthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part ofthe general practice team.
Primary keyresponsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Salaried GP in delivering health services.
a. The delivery of highlyeffective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of servicescommensurate with the primary care contract
c. To clinically examine andassess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective andplan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agenciesin a timely manner, utilising Practice and any other local guidelines
d. Generic prescribingadhering to local and national guidance
e. Prioritise healthproblems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgentor emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
f.Effective management of long-term conditions
g. To support patients toadopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and applyprinciples of self-care
h. Processing ofadministration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks
i.Review medications following the appropriatepolicies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathways

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
* Qualification in area of special interest relevant to General Practice
Experience
* Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of providing home visits
* Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
* General understanding of the primary care contract
* Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice
* An appreciation of the NHS landscape and relationship between individual organisations, PCNs and the commissioners
* Experience of working within a Total Triage model
* Experience of teaching or training junior colleagues
