Senior Bookkeeper
Up to £45K DOE
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in an established UK accountancy practice. This role is bookkeeping & VAT-focused and is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career specialising in bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
* Prepare and submit VAT returns on time
* Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
* Maintain accurate double-entry bookkeeping up to trial balance
* Review work of more junior bookkeeping staff if required
* Liaise with HMRC & other regulatory bodies in relation to VAT matters
* Meet deadlines reliably and maintain high levels of accuracy
To be successful in this role you will have / be
* MUST have a minimum 5 years’ experience working directly in a UK accountancy practice (without this experience your CV will not be considered)
* Strong, hands-on experience with Xero
* Solid understanding of VAT rules and returns in the UK
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet deadlines
* Good communication skills, both with colleagues and clients
* Accounting/bookkeeping qualification (e.g. AAT) is desirable but not essential
