Youtube channel manager (ukf)

London
AEI Music Ltd
Channel manager
Posted: 16 March
Offer description

UKF is more than just a YouTube channel; it was launched to provide a global stage for the sounds and artists that define bass music, raising the profile of emerging talent, sharing groundbreaking music with millions, and supporting the long-term health of the scene we love.

We are looking for a YouTube Channel Manager who lives and breathes the scene in a pivotal role that bridges the gap between our community of fans, our external clients and our internal teams.

Your mission is to seek out, program, and champion the best new music within the bass and electronic music community, elevating UKF's presence through data-driven insights, while providing the operational backbone that ensures we remain the gold standard for curation, scheduling 10+ uploads a week across our various channels.

This is a high-impact, front-line role for a true specialist who will be responsible for the day-to-day health of the UKF and AEI YouTube infrastructure, ensuring that every upload is optimised for growth, accurately monetised, and aligned with our global brand strategy.

Channel Administration & Operations

Precision is what allows our creativity to scale. You will own the lifecycle of every track on the channel, ensuring the music hits the world exactly as intended.

* Manage the end-to-end upload journey - from receiving the initial submission, to creating thumbnails, to rendering the final video and hitting 'publish’ - ensuring all content is correctly scheduled, deadlines are adhered to and metadata is accurately input.
* Accurately set up royalty splits for all uploads, providing essential support to the wider team with YouTube reporting and CMS conflict resolution. By ensuring surgical reporting, you guarantee that the financial data is accurate for both UKF and our partners, keeping the business side of the music as clean as the curation.
* Bridge the gap between video and streaming. You’ll curate and update our Spotify and Apple Music playlists weekly, ensuring the energy on our YouTube channels is mirrored across the entire DSP ecosystem.

Curation, Culture & Community

You are a tastemaker and a bridge to the scene. You’ll use your ears to find the music and your platform expertise to make sure the world hears it.

* Act as a cultural guide for UKF, proactively identifying new music and content upload opportunities, as well as managing and listening to the UKF submissions inbox.
* Implement innovative audience development strategies across our channels. You’ll look beyond the upload to find new ways to maximise global reach and engagement, ensuring our community is constantly expanding and discovering new sounds.
* Stay at the forefront of YouTube features and best practices, applying platform expertise to improve content retention and discovery for UKF and AEI.
* Be the human element in the machine. You’ll actively engage with and moderate the UKF YouTube community, fostering a healthy, vibrant, and hyped-up fanbase where fans feel heard and the music stays the focus.

Analytics & Reporting

Data fuels our instincts. You won’t just be tracking numbers; you’ll be decoding the patterns that validate our gut feelings and help us identify the next breakout artist or global movement.

* Track and translate monthly channel analytics and individual upload performance that show us what’s working and where we’re heading.
* Proactively identify and elaborate on new opportunities for expansion.
* Act as the data-driven partner to the music team by identifying emerging trends and potential partnership opportunities early. Your insights will help shape our curation strategy for the long term.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

You’re the person who keeps our channel output organised, acting as the connective tissue between the music and audience teams.

* Work closely with the audience and music teams to ensure video uploads are seamlessly integrated into wider social media and release schedules.
* Elevate our collective video IQ by sharing case studies, creative best practices, and platform updates that keep the entire team informed and forward-thinking.
* Act as a specialist resource for the wider AEI family, providing essential YouTube administration and label support where required.

Competencies & Requirements

Core Qualifications

* Ideally 2+ years of experience working with YouTube or video content production at a label, distributor, or digital agency.
* Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Premiere), YouTube and Google Sheets / Airtable or equivalent.
* Bachelor’s degree in Music, Digital Marketing, Communication, or equivalent practical experience.
* A passion for bass music. You will be listening to a lot of it!

Key Skills

* A keen attention to detail with a proven ability to hit strict deadlines. You are proactive in identifying potential delays and take the lead on gathering everything needed to keep workflow moving.
* An analytical mindset and data-driven approach to decision-making with the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable steps.
* Ability to multitask and juggle various projects in a fast-paced environment while remaining priority-driven.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with artists, labels, and internal departments.

Location & Availability

* Expected to be in the London office a minimum of 3 days a week, with 2 days remote.

Desirable Extras

* Previous experience running a YouTube channel
* Previous experience maintaining playlists across the major DSPs (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, etc)
* Existing relationships within the bass music community
* Advanced understanding of YouTube's Content ID and rights management workflows.
