Job Summary
Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Vascular and Amputee service
Are you passionate about optimising functional performance in the Vascular and Amputee clinical speciality? If so, this could be the role for you!
The Humber Health Partnership is looking to recruit a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist for the Vascular and Amputee service based at Hull Royal Infirmary.
The post holder will work alongside multidisciplinary colleagues to support therapeutic assessment and treatment of patients on the Vascular and Amputee pathways presenting with varying degrees of complexity.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will have direct input into the assessment and treatment of Vascular and Amputee patients both pre- and post-surgery, on the inpatient unit and in patients' own homes.
You will deliver evidence-based interventions to facilitate recovery, support positive functional outcomes, prevent deconditioning, promote well-being, and optimise independent functioning, with a focus on facilitating timely and appropriate discharges.
Main duties of the job
Applicants should have at least 12 months UK experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist, demonstrating a sound clinical foundation and readiness to step up to a Band 6 role in this clinical speciality.
You will be expected to be an active member of the multidisciplinary team and build networks for appropriate partnerships with other agencies.
The post involves delivering services across the acute inpatient unit, in patients' homes (pre- and post-surgery), and at the Artificial Limb Unit. Therefore, holding a suitable driving license or having means for independent travel is essential.
You should be self-motivated, clinically assess effectively in an acute surgical environment, and confident in enabling patients in personalised care, wheelchair and equipment assessments, manual handling, and functional assessments.
Support will be provided to develop operational management skills, and you will be encouraged to contribute to service planning, development, and teaching. As a senior team member, you should aspire to be a role model and deliver high-quality care, motivating your team to do the same.
