On behalf of a client, we are looking for a Second Engineer. Applicants must hold a UK passport or UK work permit. Role Overview: The Second Engineer is responsible for supporting the Chief Engineer in the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of all vessel machinery and technical systems. This includes propulsion, power generation, hydraulic jack-up systems, and mission-critical equipment used in offshore windfarm maintenance operations. Key Responsibilities Assist the Chief Engineer with the daily operation and maintenance of all engine room and technical systems Take delegated responsibility for machinery spaces, including periods as the senior engineer on watch Oversee maintenance and repair of: Main engines and auxiliary engines Generators and electrical distribution systems Hydraulic systems, including jack-up legs and lifting equipment HVAC and hotel services systems Ensure planned maintenance system (PMS) is followed and records are accurately maintained Supervise and mentor junior engineering crew Monitor fuel, lube oil, and consumables usage and maintain adequate stock levels Ensure compliance with UK maritime regulations, class requirements, and company procedures Support safe and efficient jack-up and jacking operations Participate in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and emergency response Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in engine spaces Assist with audits, inspections, and client visits Qualifications & Requirements: Certification STCW III/2 - Second Engineer Officer (Unlimited or Limited depending on vessel class) Valid STCW basic safety training certificates ENG1 (or equivalent) medical certificate Designated Security Duties (DSD) certification Relevant UK work eligibility DP Maintenance and High Voltage Experience Proven experience as a Second Engineer Previous offshore experience jack-up vessels Experience with: Diesel-electric propulsion systems High-voltage systems (desirable) Hydraulic and jacking systems (highly desirable) Familiarity with DP vessels Must hold a UK passport or a UK work Permit Skills & Competencies Strong technical and mechanical troubleshooting skills Good leadership and team management abilities High level of safety awareness and compliance Ability to work under pressure in offshore conditions Effective communication and reporting skills Proactive and hands-on approach Additional Information: Vessel: Jack-Up Windfarm Maintenance Vessel Location: UK Waters (must hold a British Passport or hold a UK work Permit) Reports To: Chief Engineer
