Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Midwife to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. This role requires a deep understanding of obstetrics and gynecology, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the health and safety of both mother and child.
Duties
* Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
* Provide primary care services including family planning, prenatal education, and counseling.
* Monitor vital signs and fetal development using sonography and other diagnostic tools.
* Assist in labor and delivery, ensuring safe practices during childbirth.
* Administer medications, perform suturing, and manage pain during labor as needed.
* Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop care plans for patients.
* Participate in discharge planning for postpartum patients, ensuring continuity of care.
* Collect and process specimens as required for laboratory testing.
* Stay updated on medical terminology, coding (CPT & ICD), and NCQA standards relevant to midwifery practice.
Skills
* Proficient in patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to obstetrics and gynecology.
* Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for efficient documentation.
* Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, and administering injections as part of patient care.
* Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient care settings, including NICU experience if applicable.
* Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
* Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and family planning discussions.
