Electrical Estimator Location: London Salary: Up to £100,000 (DOE) Sector: Commercial Fit-Out & Refurbishment Project Values: Up to £40m Employment Type: Permanent Role Summary We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established Mechanical & Electrical Design and Installation specialist operating at the top end of the commercial fit-out market. This role is focused purely on electrical estimating for high-value, fast-track commercial projects for Blue Chip corporate clients. Candidates must bring depth, stability, and a clear estimating background - not a jack-of-all-trades profile. Company Overview The business is a Mechanical and Electrical Design Specialist capable of delivering competitive quotations and high-quality installation services, operating on both spec & build and design & build projects. 60-65% of turnover derived from fast-track commercial fit-out & refurbishment Remaining turnover from new build commercial, health, leisure, hotel, and education sectors All staff are directly employed All services are managed in-house Strong, well-managed supply chain with long-term domestic subcontractor partners Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and competitive electrical tenders from first principles Review specifications, drawings, and employer's requirements Produce detailed take-offs, pricing schedules, and cost plans Liaise with internal pre-construction, design, and delivery teams Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value Manage multiple tenders simultaneously, often to tight deadlines Support tender clarifications and post-tender interviews when required Requirements Proven background as an Electrical Estimator within M&E contracting Strong commercial fit-out experience (CAT A & CAT B essential) Experience working on projects up to £40m Exposure to Tier One or equivalent contractors strongly preferred Stable career history - job-hopping CVs will not be suitable Clear estimating focus (not mixed designer / QS / PM roles) Strong understanding of fast-track tender environments Qualifications Relevant electrical or building services qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred) Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services systems Working Arrangements Canary Wharf based, particularly during the probationary period Some flexibility for established team members to work from home on specific tender elements This is not a fixed "3 days office / 2 days home" arrangement Hybrid working depends on tender type, stage, and programme Package & Benefits Salary up to £100,000, depending on experience Long-term career stability with a well-established contractor Exposure to high-quality, Blue Chip commercial projects Professional, technically strong pre-construction team
