What's involved with this role: Temporary Homeless Housing Solutions Officer x2 Bromsgrove and Redditch JMRQ1526074 £24.00ph PAYE per hour 3 month opening contract 37 hours per week Monday to Friday Hybrid working (1-2 days in the office, flexible depending upon experience) DBS may be a requirement but the level has not been stated Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Homelessness & Housing Solutions Officer with a minimum of 3 years experience to join their dynamic team. This is a key role within the Housing, Communities, Environment & Planning Directorate, delivering a specialist service focused on the prevention and relief of homelessness. You will play a vital part in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community—managing complex cases and making legally robust decisions under the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act. This role is primarily based on-site 2 days per week, with flexibility for experienced professionals who can work autonomously and demonstrate the ability to "hit the ground running"—potentially reducing on-site time to 1 day per week Key Responsibilities: Provide expert, customer-focused housing advice and solutions, with a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Manage a high-volume caseload, including complex homelessness applications, ensuring compliance with legislation and case law. Make sound, evidence-based decisions that meet legal and policy standards. Coordinate temporary accommodation placements in line with legal requirements and best practice. Develop and maintain relationships with private sector landlords to increase housing options and prevent homelessness. Prepare accurate case notes, referral letters, and reports that comply with internal standards and financial protocols. Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to deliver joined-up support for clients. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in homelessness prevention, housing options, or similar, with a strong understanding of relevant housing legislation. Minimum of 3 years previous experience Ability to handle a range of complex and high-pressure cases from start to finish. Skilled in managing high caseloads while maintaining accuracy and quality. Experience writing legally sound letters, making referrals, and maintaining clear, accurate records. Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
