Hours: 37 Hours Per Week - Hybrid - 2 days home working
Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity, is looking to recruit several Outreach Workers to provide safety planning, support, advice, and assistance to children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge.
Synopsis of duties:
1. To work within the terms of the MARAC, HRDA, and Court Protocols as required.
2. To work as part of the staff team providing an expert service dedicated to those affected by domestic abuse, including advocacy, information, emotional, and practical support, with a focus on keeping victims and their children safe.
3. Providing one-to-one services to those living in the community, including safety planning and risk assessments.
4. Providing advocacy and support for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
5. Providing parenting and family support.
6. Supporting victims to construct realistic safety plans, prioritizing the safety of children.
7. Identifying and assessing risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using evidence-based checklists.
8. Ensuring children receive tailored services, including safety planning, risk assessments, and emotional support.
9. Delivering 1:1 support to children affected by domestic violence or abuse, including referrals to external agencies.
10. Identifying primary perpetrators through behavioral assessments and working with them to engage in behavior change programs (e.g., ADAPT / Caring Dads).
11. Collaborating with professionals in the Family Safeguarding Team, police, probation, mental health services, MARACs, and MAPPA to escalate risks and develop multi-agency plans.
12. Working with The Hampton Trust on Respect Accredited community perpetrator programs.
Essential Requirements:
1. Understanding and awareness of the needs of women, men, and children affected by domestic abuse.
2. Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding, with the ability to work within relevant guidelines.
3. Full UK driving license and own vehicle.
