Purchasing Assistant £28, – £31, + Excellent Benefits
Our client, a successful and expanding manufacturing business, is currently seeking a motivated and detail-focused Purchasing Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to develop their career within a busy procurement function.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day purchasing of stock while helping ensure efficient supplier coordination and smooth communication across internal departments.
Duties:
·Assist with the daily purchasing of stock to support manufacturing operations
·Liaise with stores, accounts and suppliers to ensure timely supply and delivery of goods
·Maintain and review the Vendor Assessment Scheme to ensure supplier quality standards are met
·Coordinate the return of any non-conforming or unacceptable goods
·Prepare weekly reports, carry out data analysis and maintain purchasing databases
·Manage stock orders and support the wider procurement function with administration duties
·Support continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing processes
·Carry out additional duties as required by management
Criteria:
·1–2 years’ previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain support role
·Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
·Proficient IT skills with experience using purchasing software and Microsoft Office
·Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative
·Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
·Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
·Strong communication skills and a professional, team-focused approach

oMonday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
oFriday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
o42 hours per week
1. Full-time office-based role, with potential flexibility following successful completion of probation
