Job Description
Starrycare is seeking a skilled and organised Production Chef to support learners in a real working kitchen, oversee daily food production, and maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability within the Waterfront kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and mentor learners in a real work environment, ensuring adherence to health & safety and food safety regulations.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, including preparing and cooking high-quality meals for service.
* Manage food orders and work closely with the Head Technician to ensure accurate and timely procurement.
* Complete and maintain all documentation related to safe working practices to required standards.
* Work collaboratively with the team to deliver theme evenings, open events, and innovative menu offerings.
* Incorporate sustainable, locally sourced, or seasonal produce into menu planning.
* Ensure all kitchen activities align with business objectives and contribute to operational excellence.
Requirements
1. Professional chef qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent).
2. Experience working in a busy commercial kitchen or catering environment.
3. Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and relevant health & safety regulations.
4. Experience mentoring or supporting learners/apprentices (desirable).
5. Ability to produce high-quality meals consistently and work effectively under pressure.
6. Strong organisational, teamwork, and communication skills.
7. Commitment to sustainability, creativity, and delivering an exceptional dining experience.
