Personal Assistant for Robert in Lanark. £12.60 per hour, 10 Hours available.

About Robert
Robert enjoys having fun and laughing. He has a bubbly and engaging personality and likes his staff to join in his interests. Routine is important to Robert; he likes to know what he is doing each day. A typical day could include going to the shops, driving Robert in his own car, using his computer, and watching football. Robert receives support 7 days a week, usually between 8 am and 9 pm.
Responsibilities
* Attend to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
* Assist with medication
* Prepare meals and healthy snacks
* Assist in the community
* Move and assist – pushing manual wheelchair only when power chair is broken, using tracking hoist
* Household tasks and shopping
* Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
* Support and encourage Robert to participate in activities suited to his needs
Working pattern
Currently Robert is looking for someone to join his team to cover 10 hours, mainly 2 hours in the evening and one full weekend out of 4. You will be part of a team of Personal Assistants for Robert, with a degree of flexibility on working additional hours essential.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience in a care environment
* Excellent verbal and listening skills, people skills
* Clean UK Driving Licence
* Right to Work in the UK
* References from two employers (including current or most recent employer) and updated PVG certificate from Disclosure Scotland
* Desirable: Driver with a clean licence to drive a mobility car; must be over 25 years old for insurance purposes
Notes
Robert is a gentleman with advanced cerebral palsy and a severe speech impairment, requiring someone with a strong understanding of English for communication.
If selected, you will be employed directly by a Private Employer on a PAYE basis and will be entitled to statutory rights (paid holidays and statutory sick pay where eligible).
