Overview
The Acute Oncology Coordinator is responsible for the care coordination, administrative support, and organisation of the Acute Oncology Service under the direction of Acute Oncology Specialist Nurses and Oncologists, collectively known as the Acute Oncology Team. As a valued member of the Acute Oncology team you will provide vital support to patients and staff to enable the delivery of high quality, safe care to patients with cancer under the care of the Acute Oncology service. This post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and organisation for the Acute Oncology Service (AOS), including the Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP).

Responsibilities
* Coordinate the Acute Oncology Service (AOS) including the Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP).
* Support the AOS with effective organisation to ensure patients are reviewed in a timely way without delays to care pathways.
* Act as a point of contact for patients and relatives via telephone, including effective signposting to other services and escalating appropriately to the clinical team in emergency situations.
* Coordinate referrals into the service and collate information about a patient\'s cancer diagnosis and treatments; support the daily triage process.
* Provide administrative support to the Malignancy of Unknown Origin (MUO) / Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) service.
* Assist the Acute Oncology Team with clinical audits, the Quality Surveillance process and patient experience exercises, including compiling evidence for self-assessment, internal validation and external visits as required.
* Provide full administrative, clerical and secretarial support for the Acute Oncology Team (AOT).
