Change Manager – Supply Chain Optimisation (Contract)
6–12 Months | Hybrid with Travel | Inside IR35
A well‑known UK retailer is embarking on a major Supply Chain Optimisation programme designed to transform warehouse, distribution and transport operations. They are seeking an experienced Change Manager to lead the people‑side of change across multiple sites, ensuring new processes, systems and ways of working land smoothly and sustainably.
This is a hands‑on role that requires a strong presence in warehouses and distribution centres, working closely with operatives, logistics teams and drivers to ensure change is understood, embedded and adopted.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead change enablement activities across multiple supply chain environments.
* Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify influential depot and warehouse leaders.
* Contribute to detailed change impact assessments across the end‑to‑end supply chain.
* Develop clear, targeted communication strategies for predominantly non‑desk‑based teams (e.g., huddles, posters, digital signage).
* Work with L&D to shape, coordinate and schedule training aligned to shift patterns and seasonal peaks.
* Assess change readiness through surveys, site visits, and direct colleague engagement.
* Support and coach local implementation leads to build internal change capability.
* Identify and manage resistance early, supporting managers in addressing concerns.
* Provide post‑go‑live support to ensure new ways of working are sustained.
This role requires a strong physical presence across warehouses and depots. You will:
* Bring proven experience leading change in supply chain environments.
* Be comfortable working flexible hours (early mornings/late finishes) to engage shift‑based teams.
* Communicate in clear, practical language—removing unnecessary jargon.
* Spend time on the warehouse floor and in transport offices to understand real‑world operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile
* An experienced Change Manager with a track record of delivering operational change within supply chain, logistics or warehousing environments.
* Someone who thrives in hands‑on, people‑centric roles and can translate complex project goals into clear actions for operational teams.
* Confident influencing at all levels, from depot leaders to warehouse operatives.
* Highly resilient, adaptable and comfortable in fast‑moving, high‑volume environments.
