Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Waterlooville
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis at our school in Waterlooville.
This role is suited to someone with significant experience and confidence supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly pupils who find learning extremely challenging and require carefully structured, skilled support. You will be working with very weak learners who need a patient, knowledgeable adult who truly understands how to break learning down and help children make progress.
Although the post is based in a Year 3 class, applicants must have strong experience in KS1, as the children you will support are working well below age-related expectations.
The successful candidate will:
Have proven experience supporting children with a range of SEN
Be highly competent in working with pupils who struggle significantly with learning
Demonstrate excellent phonics knowledge and confidence delivering phonics interventions
Understand how to scaffold learning effectively for children working at an early developmental stage
Be calm, patient, resilient and proactive
Work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and SEN staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
