We're delighted to be supporting a major engineering consultancy, delivering complex tooling and mechanical design solutions across highly regulated sectors, as part of a wider framework agreement.
Due to significant investment and long-term programme growth, we're looking for experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, with strong Siemens NX skills and a background in tooling, fixtures, jigs, lifting equipment or precision mechanical systems.
Here, you will be joining a powerhouse of the engineering world, working with a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team, and the chance to collaborate on cutting-edge, meaningful UK programmes with long-term career potential.
Key Responsibilities
* 3D modelling and 2D detailing in Siemens NX
* Managing design data via Teamcenter (PLM)
* Full lifecycle tooling design: requirements concept DfM release
* Producing assemblies, sub-assemblies, BOMs and detailed drawings
* Applying GD&T to ASME Y14.5 / BS standards
* Supporting gated design reviews and client presentations
* Ensuring compliance with safety legislation and UKCA requirements
What You'll Bring
Essential:
* Strong Siemens NX (3D + 2D)
* Proven tooling / jigs / fixtures / lifting equipment design experience
* Teamcenter or similar PLM experience
* Solid DfM understanding
* Confident with GD&T
Desirable:
* Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defence, heavy engineering, oil & gas
* FEA exposure (Abaqus, ANSYS, MathCAD or hand calcs)
* Manufacturing or toolmaker background
