The role
Job Description
An established organisation is seeking a Mechanical Services Technician to join its Estates team, supporting a diverse portfolio of buildings including academic, residential and public spaces. You will deliver a mix of reactive repairs, planned maintenance and small project works, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
Location: Oxford (multi-site)
Salary: £36,636 starting, £37,694 after 6-month probation, rising to £39,906
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance across mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs across a multi-site estate
- Undertake installations, refurbishments and small improvement works
- Conduct inspections, testing and ensure accurate reporting via CAFM systems
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors, providing support where needed
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, gas and water regulations, including participation in the on-call rota
About You
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Services (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience in mechanical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance
- Experience in both commercial and domestic-style environments
- Knowledge of H&S legislation, ACOPs and British Standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic DBS
