Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering
Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW in this teaching and research role. You will develop your own research in Electrical Engineering while teaching undergraduate/postgraduate classes in Systems and Control and related disciplines, conduct classes, design learning activities, supervise HDR students, and publish high‑quality research.
Position Details
* Full time
* Fixed term – 2‑year convertible tenure track (potential to transition to a continuing appointment, subject to performance)
* Salary – Lecturers (Level B) AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation; Senior Lecturers (Level C) AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills and Experience
Lecturer (Level B)
* A PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Systems and Control, and relevant work experience.
* Commitment to staying up‑to‑date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Systems and Control and across Electrical Engineering.
* Experience using and designing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
* Experience of industry or work‑integrated learning (desirable).
* Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Track record in research with high‑quality, high‑impact outcomes and a desire to achieve research excellence and leadership.
* Significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
* High‑level communication skills and ability to network effectively with students and staff.
* Teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration, and relationship building.
* Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Commitment to UNSW’s aims, values and relevant policies.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to training.
Senior Lecturer (Level C)
* A PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Systems and Control, and relevant work experience.

* Experience in pedagogical approaches, curriculum development, and delivery of courses and programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Experience implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness, passion for educational excellence and fostering it in others.
* Success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
* Experience with industry or work‑integrated learning.
* Support for students from diverse backgrounds and inclusivity initiatives.
* Track record in research with high‑quality, high‑impact outcomes and research leadership.
* Experience recruiting and supervising high‑calibre students.
* Teamwork, collaboration and effective relationship building.
* Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to interact with the profession, industry and attract funding for teaching initiatives.
