As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations. You’ll work closely with engineers, service management, and information security teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software. This is a hybrid position, with the flexibility to be based at any of our Irwin Mitchell offices across England.
Responsibilities
* Designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for Dynamics 365 and Azure services.
* Automating build, test, and deployment processes to ensure rapid and reliable software releases.
* Developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts and Azure Automation runbooks.
* Planning and coordinating the migration from Octopus Deploy to Azure DevOps.
* Managing infrastructure as code using ARM templates and Terraform.
* Overseeing release planning and environment management across development, testing, and production.
* Implementing monitoring and logging using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
* Creating dashboards and reports with Power BI to visualise system performance.
* Ensuring security and compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, RBAC, and NSGs.
* Conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments using Azure Security Centre.
* Collaborating across engineering teams to align goals and resolve technical issues.
* Mentoring junior team members and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
* Providing expert-level support and troubleshooting for Azure-related issues.
* Participating in an on-call rota to support platform operations.
Qualifications
* Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and YAML for scripting and automation.
* Expertise in Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
* Experience with Git, ARM templates, Terraform, and Azure infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of Azure services including VMs, Storage, Networking, and Active Directory.
* Proficiency in monitoring tools and data visualisation using Power BI.
* Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
* Experience working in agile product teams and professional services environments.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* A proactive, resilient, and self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
* Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
