Role: Marketing Executive - (Thought Leadership, Content & Events)

Location: Birmingham, TerraQuest, Sixth Floor Suite, 31 Temple St B2 5DB - in line with our Agile Working Policy. You will need to be able to work from our Birmingham office 2 days per week/office to be attended as often as business needs require.

What we need...

Due to a period of sustained growth, we are looking to recruit a Marketing Executive for Thought Leadership, Content & Events to join our Marketing Team.

As a Marketing Executive at TerraQuest, you’ll help shape how our brand shows up across the built environment - through compelling storytelling, thought leadership, PR, and events. You’ll work closely with the wider marketing and communications team to plan and deliver content that enhances our reputation, strengthens relationships, and keeps TerraQuest at the forefront of industry conversation.

This role will focus approximately 60% on content and thought leadership, creating insightful materials that position TerraQuest and Planning Portal as an industry authority, and 40% on organising and delivering high-quality events, securing closed-room opportunities that generate leads and foster meaningful industry connections.


What you will be doing…

* Research, draft and edit high-quality multi-channel content, including articles, blogs, press releases, newsletters and social media posts.
* Develop and embed thought leadership that showcases TerraQuest and Planning Portal’s expertise in planning, digital transformation and data.
* Translate complex technical insights into engaging narratives by collaborating with internal teams, subject-matter experts and external partners
* Support PR activity by briefing our agency, reviewing messaging, identifying media opportunities, maintaining a PR tracker and coordinating internal approvals.
* Lead email communications, including weekly newsletters and monthly bulletins, using performance data to optimise engagement and impact.
* Support the planning and promotion of events, webinars and exhibitions, including logistics, speaking opportunities and post-event communications.
* Create and manage social media content across LinkedIn and other platforms, tracking engagement and growing professional audiences.
* Work collaboratively with Brand, Marketing, agencies and partners to ensure consistent messaging and high-quality campaign delivery across all channels.


What we are looking for…

We’re looking for someone with 1–3 years’ experience in marketing, PR or communications. You’ll be an exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy. A natural storyteller, you’ll have a genuine interest in current affairs, the built environment and digital transformation, and be confident turning complex ideas into compelling content.

You’ll be highly organised, able to juggle multiple priorities and manage projects effectively. Just as importantly, you’ll feel comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, building strong and collaborative relationships across teams. A proactive mindset and genuine enthusiasm for events, media engagement and creative content development are essential.


Desirable

A bachelor’s degree or CIM qualification in marketing or a related discipline would be advantageous. Experience writing for professional or technical (B2B) audiences is highly desirable, as is familiarity with SEO principles, CRM automation platforms and social media management tools. An understanding of brand tone of voice and visual identity — and how to apply them consistently across channels — would also be beneficial.
