Overview
Our client is an independent consulting and engineering services group, and a leader in infrastructure, energy, environmental and city solutions. The Group has over 50 years’ experience supporting public, private, and institutional clients in developing transport, water, buildings, renewable energy and rural development projects, from concept through to commissioning and operation.
They are looking for a talented Geotechnical Consultant Engineer at either Senior or Principal level to work from their offices in Leeds. As our client works on a variety of projects including offshore, offshore experience is an advantage but not essential. Ideally the candidate will have a civil engineering/geotechnical background and will be chartered.
The successful candidate will be joining a growing office and will be working with teams from all over the globe as well as in the UK. Two days’ work from home per week is available.
This position would suit someone who would like the opportunity long term to manage a team. It is a highly technical position and there is a portfolio of projects available to start on straight away.
Requirements
* Around 5-10 years’ relevant industry background as an indication of seniority.
* Chartered Engineer
* Able to be independent and has the aspiration to establish and leading a team
* Strong technical skills in the design of foundations and other geotechnical constructions
The following technical skills/background are preferred:
* Piles in Chalk and Glacial Till
* Offshore design, preferably windfarm and port
* Railway, depot and station design
* Embankments and cuttings
* Ground treatment/improvement
